The Belgian bottling company Cristal Chaudfontaine was founded in 1926. It marketed Chaudfontaine water from a spring near Liège. The brand still exists today and is owned by Coca-Cola Belgium.

Henri Malvoisin, a wine merchant in the Vosges, diversified his sales by launching Grapp Cur in 1929, a concentrated Burgundy grape juice intended for pharmacists. He expanded the range with Quart Grapp aimed at cafes. In the 1930s, the success was such that he abandoned the wine trade.
