From 1900 to 1940, Cappiello created many iconic posters. He revolutionized the field of advertising by incorporating bold colors, simplified shapes, and striking images with a touch of humor. The Catalogue raisonné of Leonetto Cappiello shows how he became “the father” of modern advertising.

This catalog aims to become the most exhaustive documentary source possible on Cappiello’s posters. It seeks to showcase all the preparatory works that were created to produce a poster pasted on walls. According to our estimate, Cappiello would have executed nearly 2000, about 1/3 of which were published.
