The works

  • Liebig brand concentrated beef stock

  • Gas burner for lighting with the flame directed downward into a luminous mantle. The advantage of this device is to provide light without the shadow of the burner. This poster has two variants: one highlights the product brand: Mars, the other the name of its manufacturer: Société des Verreries pour l’Éclairage (S.V.E.).

  • Curaçao is a triple sec, meaning an orange peel-based liqueur. It was produced by the Galland house in Vienne, Isère. These two products, curaçao and triple sec, led to two variants of the same poster.

  • Cigars manufactured by the company José Tinchant Y Gonzalès and Co. in Antwerp.

  • Marsala wine produced in the Marsala region of Sicily. S.O.M. stands for Superior Old Marsala. This wine is drunk as an aperitif
