In 1912, Cappiello made a sketch for a Brazilian lottery, in 1917 for a Roman lottery. It is likely that this sketch is one of the two.

The Salon des Humoristes was conceived by Félix Juven, director of "Le Rire". This salon would merge with that of the Société des Dessinateurs Humoristes. Cappiello was part of the organizing artistic committee.
Caran d'Ache pencils have been manufactured in Geneva since 1915.
