The works

  • In 1853, Louis Jules Périllieux-Michelez purchased the former abbey of Yerres in Seine et Oise. He developed a worsted wool spinning mill and a weaving operation there. He marketed his wools under the brand "A Sainte Geneviève". This brand would be continued by his successors for a century. The factory was passed on to his son-in-law Léon Blazy and his brother. They continued the business by creating the company Blazy Frères. They achieved such renown that the spinning mill was nicknamed BZ.F by the staff and residents of the town of Yerres. In 1931, the factory was managed by the establishment "Laines et Tricots BZ.F.". It ceased operations in 1945.
