A condiment similar to mustard, invented in 1899 by the English company Colman's. It was not marketed in France until after the First World War.
The Alimentation de Provence company experienced considerable growth during the First World War because it had secured the monopoly on corned-beef imports for the French army. After the war, it diversified into charcuterie with high-quality products such as Saucisson Mireille.
Air France was founded in 1933 through the merger of five French airlines: Air Union, Air Orient, Société Générale de Transport Aérien (SGTA), CIDNA, and Aéropostale.
