Coal. In 1931, the Compagnie des Mines de Bruay in northern France created Carbolux, a company that transforms coal into charcoal.
Sanal grocery stores were founded in Nancy in 1908. They merged in 1960 under the CORA brand. The first hypermarket opened in 1969.
Cherry Brandy “Regals” is made from crushed cherries macerated in eau de vie. It is marketed by Lucien Legras & Cie in Versailles and Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte d'Or. Mistinguett is quoted as saying: “Le Cherry de mon chéri est mon Cherry”.
