Sketch
Tourism, real estate promotion
Dinard is a seaside resort in Brittany that developed from the late 19th century onwards.
In 1922, two architects planned to develop an ambitious seaside housing estate at Pointe de la Vicomté, at the mouth of the Rance. In 1928, construction began on a casino and a grand hotel. Plans were made for a shopping center, a landing stage, and villas. By 1929, the hotel, casino, and five tennis courts were completed. It was in this context that Cappiello created this poster project. However, the 1929 crisis put an end to this construction program. If we compare this sketch with the black and white photo on the page devoted to Byrrh, we can say that it is most likely the first of a series of three. The colours are the same, the women look the same and are wearing the same dress. The caption for this sketch could be: "From the vine to the hood...".
