This was the case for the Grandes Galeries Modernes in Agen and the Galeries Orléanaises in Orléans. This chain of stores would join the Galeries Lafayette Group in 1983. It should be noted that the Galeries Orléanaises belonged to the Paris brothers in 1904.

The House of Nuyens and Co. in Bordeaux was founded in 1802. It specializes exclusively in the production of superfine liqueurs intended for export. It was one of the first to promote and popularize the consumption of peppermint in the form of liqueur or essence.
