The distillation of eaux de vie into liqueurs began in Hendaye in the seventeenth century. But the real industrial start came in 1900 with the creation of Izarra in 1904.
Italian liqueur made from 70 different plants including mint, fennel and cinnamon. The word strega translates into English as "witch".
