The Mireille company in Avignon experienced considerable growth during the Great War, as it secured the monopoly on corned-beef imports to supply the troops.

The Alimentation de Provence company experienced considerable growth during the First World War because it had secured the monopoly on corned-beef imports for the French army. After the war, it diversified into charcuterie with high-quality products such as Saucisson Mireille.

The advertisement says: "The Mirex allows a complete examination of the face from the front and in profile up to the nape of the neck.
