In 1832, Thomas Naltet and his wife, née Menand, took over a distillery in Chalon-sur-Saône. He had the idea of steeping sloes in aged spirits. It was in 1842 that Prunelle Naltet was born. It was packaged in a stoneware jug from La Dheune. The success was immediate. During the war, this jug was reused as a hot water bottle. Today, the sloe liqueur is still sold in gourmet shops.

Venchi biscuits In 1878, Silviano Venchi opened a chocolate workshop in Turin. He made a name for himself with his famous Nougatine. Since then, Venchi has gone from strength to strength, producing not only chocolates but also caramels. The company is now international, with 120 shops in 70 countries.
