Léon Reynaud was a wine merchant since 1870 in Chambéry in Savoie. In addition to his trading business, he produced vermouth. The company remained family-owned until it was sold to Vins Guichon in the late 1950s.
The Ibled chocolate factory was founded in 1824. In 1852 a factory was established in Mondicourt in the Pas de Calais. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Chocorêve brand was created.
From 1905 onwards, Suchard was a multinational company originating from Neuchâtel in Switzerland. It notably owned the Milka brand.
