The Société Française des Nouvelles Galeries Réunies, founded in 1899, brought together many department stores across France. This was the case for the Grandes Galeries Modernes in Agen and the Galeries Orléanaises in Orléans. This chain of stores would join the Galeries Lafayette Group in 1983. It should be noted that the Galeries Orléanaises belonged to the Paris brothers in 1904.

The title of this painted photo is different from what it shows. This is a typical example of painted photos: Cappiello failed to sell the sketch for margarine to ADI or SAT, so he takes a black and white photo of the sketch and colors it by adapting it for cream or a similar product.
