In 1929, Établissements Gérard-Becuwe was manufacturing enamelled cast-iron stoves, ovens, cookers, baths and even electric irons. They had a foundry at Signy-Le-Petit in the Ardennes, another at Soissons in the Aisne and a mechanical workshop near Dieppe.

Doctor Luigi Rovetta was a theorist of scientific naturism. In 1920, he founded the House of Natural Cures Dr. Luigi Rovetta in Ronco di Ghiffa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
