In 1878, Frédéric Berger established an absinthe distillery in Marseille. In 1915, the prohibition of absinthe forced Berger to diversify. In 1923, the first anise-flavored aperitif Berger Blanc was created.
In addition to sparkling wines, Gancia produces a white vermouth and a white americano.
