Charcuterie Société d'Alimentation de Provence enjoyed considerable growth during the First World War, when it obtained a monopoly on the import of corned beef for the French army. After the war, it diversified into charcuterie with quality products such as Saucisson Mireille.
The Mireille company in Avignon experienced considerable growth during the Great War, as it secured the monopoly on corned-beef imports to supply the troops.
