The Ibled chocolate factory was founded in 1824. In 1852 a factory was established in Mondicourt in the Pas de Calais. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Chocorêve brand was created.
The Belgian company Cida was founded in 1907. It was sold to the Dutch company Kwatta in 1913. Cida brand chocolates were marketed until the end of the 1930s.
From 1905 onwards, Suchard was a multinational company originating from Neuchâtel in Switzerland. It notably owned the Milka brand.
